Directions: 

Prep

1.  Start with dry, unshampooed, detangled hair that’s free of product buildup. 
2.  Put on Dark & Lovely Gloves from the hair bleach kit.
3.  Twist off applicator cap tip and unscrew applicator cap from Cream Developer bottle.
4.  Gently shake Bleaching Powder (1) sachet packets to loosen contents.
5.  Cut off the corners of the packets at the dotted line and carefully pour the entire contents of packets, one at a time, into the Cream Developer (2) bottle. Be sure the packet opening is completely inside the neck of the bottle. Keep packets away from eyes and face. 
6.  Screw the flat cap onto the Cream Developer (2) bottle. 
7.  Point bottle away from face. Shake vigorously for at least 60 seconds to ensure bleach mixture is thoroughly blended until uniform, rich, and creamy. 
8.  Immediately remove flat cap once hair bleach mixture is smooth and creamy. Discard flat cap and replace with applicator tip. Use immediately and proceed to next step. 

 

Note: Always shake bottle with the flat cap on for optimal mixing results. Never leave flat cap on after mixing is complete. The container may burst. You should also never leave the tip of the applicator cap unopened after mixing as its container may also burst.  

 

Option 1: All-Over Bleaching
For hair that has not been previously bleached over

 

1. Lighten Lengths: 

●  Divide hair into four sections and work in quadrants.
●  Right after mixing, begin in one front quadrant, making small sections. Apply Dark & Lovely Uplift hair bleach 1 inch away from the scalp. Mixture should be evenly coated and visible all over applied areas. Once all of the hair has bleach mixture applied, move on to the remaining quadrants. Use about ⅔ of the bleach mixture. 
●  Leave on for 30-40 minutes. Use a lightning preview test as a timing guide. Refer to the preview test section.

 

 

2. Lighten Roots:

●  After 30-40 minutes have passed, apply remaining bleach mixture to the root area, making small ¼ inch parts. Gently smooth mixture onto roots, saturating thoroughly.
●  Set a timer for an additional 20-30 minutes. To see if desired result is achieved, clean a small piece of hair using gloved fingers or wipe with a napkin. If hair is not lightened enough, reapply mixture and leave on for 5 more minutes. Continue to check every 5 minutes until designed lightness is achieved.

 

3. Rinse, Condition & Tone:

●  When time is up and desired lightness is achieved, keeping gloves on, thoroughly rinse product from hair using warm water until water runs clear. No need to shampoo.
●  Squeeze excess water from hair.
●  Apply the Violet Toning Care Conditioner (3) to hair. Work through gently and let penetrate for 5 minutes. (NOTE: Use wide-toothed comb if preferred.)
●  Use Violet Toning Care Conditioner (3) when needed to maintain blonde tones, cool down brassiness, and leave hair hydrated.

Option 2: Touch-Up Lightening
For hair that has been bleached all over 4-6 weeks previously.

1. Touch-Up Roots Only

●  Do not apply bleach mixture on previously bleached hair as this could cause breakage. 
●  With the tip of the applicator, make small ¼ inch parts and apply Dark & Lovely Uplift Bleach mixture onto the new growth only. 
●  Continue making parts and applying product until all new hair growth is saturated. A thick coating should be visible and evenly distributed all over applied areas.

2. Time It

●  Start timer for 30 minutes. 
●  To see if desired end result is achieved, clean a small piece of hair using gloved fingers or wipe with a napkin. Hair should be a pale yellow. If hair is not lightened enough, reapply mixture again and leave on for 5 more minutes. 
●  Continue to check every 5 minutes until desired lightness is achieved. Do not exceed a total processing time of 60 minutes.

3. Rinse, Condition & Tone

●  When time is up and your desired lightness has been achieved, keeping gloves on, thoroughly rinse product from your hair using warm water until water runs clear. No need to shampoo.
●  Squeeze excess water from hair. Apply the Violet Toning Care Conditioner (3) to hair. Gently work through and let penetrate for 5 minutes. (NOTE: Use wide-toothed comb if preferred.)
●  Use Violet Toning Care Conditioner (3) when needed to maintain blonde tones, cool down brassiness, and leave hair hydrated.
